Dr. Smith began in private practice at the Lincoln Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic in Lincoln, Nebraska, specializing in spine surgery for four years before joining the Front Range Orthopedic Center. Dr. Smith has been in practice in Boulder County since 1994. He continues specializing in spine disorders and surgery including scoliosis. He performs XLIF and disc arthroplasty procedures.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska. He earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska, where he also completed his orthopedic residency. Dr. Smith completed fellowship training in disorders of the spine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Elmwood Hospital in New Orleans.
Dr. Smith is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has been published in national orthopedic journals. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Longmont United Hospital, Past Chief of Staff of Longmont United Hospital
and Past President of the Colorado Orthopedic Society.
